About the project
Stories from Reading Terminal Market is a project of Marisa McClellan, a graduate student in Writing Studies at St. Joseph’s University. The goal of this project is to collect stories, memories, recipes and fond recollections from the experiences of individuals at Reading Terminal Market. Most days, a new post will appear on the blog as a way to give people a fresh way to connect with the richness of the Market.
If you have a story to tell about your experiences at Reading Terminal, please contact me at rtmstoryproject@gmail.com.
Happy shopping, cooking and eating!

I thought perhaps we would run into each other in some sort of Internet serendipity, but no.

Marisa, I want to thank you for these stories and pic’s. I used to work in center city from 1975 thru 1996. I would go to the Reading Terminal a LOT. I will on occasion go with my wife on a Saturday to pick up some fresh fish and sausages at Martins, (they are the best) my whole family agrees, and get an Italian hoagie from Rocco’s. I miss it soooo much. In fact just writing this note I think I will make a point to go there this Saturday 7/28. We were going to go to the shore but decided to stay home. Could be for the best.
Again Thanks, Ted.
Marisa: I am doing a story on the market for Skybus’ in-flight magazine. I’d like to ask you some questions. Can you email me ASAP? (It is Friday, Feb. 8.
Marisa,
Thank you for this wonderful site, my gr.grandfather, grandfather, father, uncles and other family members had businesses in Reading Terminal for many years, and as a child I spent many an hour there. I remember the wonderful Ice Cream Cones, and the Amish baked goods. Thanks for the trip back down memory lane.
